Mahalo Upgraded: Search Engine and Social Networking Integrated

December 20th, 2007 by askweb20

It’s interesting to see the integration of the different features of Web 2.0. Improvisation and innovation churn out different hybrids in the landscape of Web 2.0. The latest example of this is the upgrade of Mahalo to Mahalo Social, where users can search various topics in the net while creating their own profiles. Members can now edit content in Mahalo, share content with friends, and communicate with each other.

The upgrade is a major overhaul of Mahalo. The beautiful thing is you can integrate your profile from different social networking sites where you belong to such as Facebook. Mahalo Social also enables you to add friends and look at what they are doing.

When you conduct searches, you can submit links for the search results and of course track your submissions to the site. This feature tends to be abused, however, so as a precaution, Mahalo has editors that look into these links to determine whether they are spam or not. At least you don’t have to worry that somebody will post annoying comments and links to your profile page and elsewhere in Mahalo. Friends, site searches, and the new features will make Mahalo Social more appealing.
