Rhapsody and Mog.com Tune Up

January 10th, 2008 by askweb20

In its desire to capture at least a segment of the music downloading market, Rhapsody, owned by RealNetworks, has tuned up with music blogging site Mog.com to deliver a wider range of music to its user. Mog.com reviews music and connects different people in sharing and listening to music.

Through the partnership between Mog.com and Rhapsody, the readers and members of Mog.com could click on a link embedded on the website so that they could listen to the 4.5 million music available from Rhapsody. They wouldn’t need to click on a link and visit another website. All of this could be done at Mog.com.

Mog users can also create their own playlists and manage the music that they download and listen to. They can also view the playlists of their Mog friends. Mog has also redesigned its layout and helps provide information regarding the artists and the album featured on its website.

This service is available for free during the trial day period of 14 days. After that, the user has to register and subscribe to Rhapsody. To download 25 songs per month, the user has to pay $12.99.

There are still a lot of deals in the pipeline for Rhapsody but whether or not it can compete with itunes remains to be seen.
